      A handmade book inspired by the birds that flock to my garden in Northumberland all year round. The background is taken from a mixed media painting of mine, which included text taken from a much-loved childhood bird book.         Thanks for the help. I am planning to plant my first garden in spring and want it to fit the area, so I am hoping to use some wildflower seed mixes. I would not have thought to put a net over the soil to protect the seed from birds. That was one of my parents’ biggest problems when they tried it.
